Constructive methods are always evolving and moving forward. Gone are the days when building a house depended exclusively on local materials. Construction of a 3 bedroom house in Vale de Lobos, in the parish of Almargem dio Bispo, in the municipality of Sintra, on a plot of 1200m2 with a total building area of 210m2, with two floors above ground level. Construction in LSF (Light Steel Framing), in order to improve the thermal and acoustic performance of the walls of steel frame houses, rock wool sheets are used in a double layer inside the walls and ceilings. The walls are then coated, on the inside with plasterboard, which is water-repellent in damp areas, and on the outside with thermal insulation (type “capoto”).
